At the beginning of June ROA CN visited NIPA in Sint Maarten. We had a conversation with the director, Mr. Blomont, the director of Business and stakeholder engagement Mr. David and one of the coordinators of the nursing program miss Adams.
We talked extensively about the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) and the License Practical Nursing (LPN) as a hybrid program for Saba. ROA CN is going to execute a Quick Scan to see if there is a need for a nursing program on Saba and if the LPN program is suitable for Saba. ROA CN also talked to the team lead of the CVQ program at the Saba Comprehensive School, Madelyn Johnson.
Possibilities to organise hospitality and tourism programs in collaboration with AHLEI (American HOTEL & Lodging Educational Institute) were discussed between NIPA and ROA CN. The institute offers short first line learning programs who are mainly taught online. They also offer more complete programs for the hospitality and tourism sector. Mr. Blomont and expert misses Brown had a meeting in May on Statia and in June on Saba to explain the hospitality program to the stakeholders.
