ROA CN STRENGTHENS BOND WITH SBB

Council Education Labor Market Netherlands Caribbean (ROA CN) and Foundation for Co-operation Vocational Education, Training and the Labor Market (SBB) Embark on a New Path.

August 22, 2014 - KRALENDIJK - During an intensive work visitation from August 18 - 20, the two foundations thoroughly discussed the introduction of revised qualification files within the Netherlands Caribbean and took the first steps towards closer cooperation.

Secondary vocational education on Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba will make a transition to using new qualification files as of August 1, 2016. This will cause changes in in the design of course content. These innovations create opportunities to better align courses with the regional labor market. The foundations also examined how the local recognition procedure for training companies can be equalized to that of the European Netherlands.

SBB examination chamber manager, Ad Woudenberg, and policy advisor, Mirjan de Lange, spoke with CN schools and ROA CN advisors during a videoconference at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. Agreements have been established with ROA CN to further develop expertise and a quality care system.
